We just got back from a wonderful time in Thailand. We spent two weeks doing training and went to the annual reunion with our branch of the company. And for the last week, we celebrated our anniversary at the beach, woohoo! Going to Thailand was like a breath of fresh air. We were able to get renewed, refreshed, and re-energized. It was so nice to be able to use English with the locals and have them actually understand you (most of the time). We enjoyed eating western food there, and meeting lots of new people.
Things we learned while in Thailand:
-it’s not unusual to see an elephant walking on the sidewalk (we saw this one night on our way back to our hotel)
-motorbikes are the best way to get around
-Chiang mai has great Mexican Food and every other kind of western food you can think of... yay!!!
-authentic Thai food is delicious
-the beaches are gorgeous and this is a fabulous place to vacation- it’s cheap, fun and beautiful (hint hint to family and friends)
-tourism is down dramatically
-our colleagues in our company are like a family
-Thailand has good medical care- we had a physical and dental checkups while we were there
-There are a lot of temples, buddhas and spirit houses
